Star Wars and Lala Land

As I write this, I am flying over Texas, so this will not be a long post.
I am on my way to Los Angeles for the junket for “The Honeymooners”. I was at Disney MGM studios this morning for the kickoff of Star Wars Weekends. There were some there that are too gung-ho on the movie but for the most part, they were normal.
My post today really is about Hollywood. They say there are two types of people in this business- Hollywood types or New York types. Not to say one type is better than the other, the two have different personalities. New York types tell you how it is… Upfront, honest and sometimes crass soaring no feelings. Sometimes considered rude, and careless in their assessment.
Hollywood types will tell you what you want to hear. They want to know what you can do for them.
I hope you don’t think I’m just bitter or something about this business because nothing is farther from the truth. I am just explaining something I have observed in my years.
I have more respect for the New York types because you always know where you stand with them. Besides, that is the greatest city in the world.

What type are you?

  1. I think there are times in life when you just need to be a little NYc and times when it might be better to go about things the LA way…knowing the difference is half the battle. I think if you examined people who you think are truly successful and well thought of at the same time, you would find a balanced personality.
