Change is inevitable.
I’m sure that you’ve heard that sort of thing a time or two. Well, to say that my life has changed in the past few years is quite the understatement. I mean… really.
Anywho, change has once again met with your favorite Jackass on TV™ and this time, it’s not too much of a change. It’ll be a great opportunity for me to have some more fun in the morning. Starting Monday, 30 Jan 2017, I will join my bud Meg Alexander as the new co-host for Living Oklahoma. It’s what they call a “lifestyle” show and it’ll allow me the opportunity to talk about what’s going on in the community, the world and interview people that are in it. Plus, I am told, I get to have some fun too!
I used to host WB AM, a 2 1/2 hour TV talk show in Salt Lake City before I moved on to The Daily Buzz back in the day, so it’s definitely going to bring back a caffeine induced gab-fest that will be pretty exciting.
I’m excited about the opportunity and more importantly, I’ll be able to do something that I haven’t been able to do… watch my kids off to school. Granted, I’m down to #4 and she’s my last child and now she’s a junior in high school. But still, I look forward to having breakfast with her and seeing her off. I’ve worked early morning for 98% of my broadcast career, so to have an opportunity to sleep in past 2 am should really change things up for the better.
Meg is an incredible talent too. She’s well known here in OKC and even had filled in on the FOX 25 Morning News with me. We instantly hit it off, so I am extremely excited to be working and learning from her as I move on to this new venture. She and I have similar lives so it’s going to be fun to share our stories with you as well as introducing you all that Oklahoma has to offer. Plus you’ll get to hear all my foibles of living as a Single Dad here in the Sooner state.
While I probably won’t be totally the guy you remember on The Daily Buzz, you will be able to get a hint of that person as much as they will allow me to show you. I’m a different kind of talent, I know and I get it. However, something that I have always tried to do was be true to myself on-air and try to be as much of who I am on-air. If I’m not… well, please let me know. Ok, so that’s my big news. Yay!
Thank you to all of those that have stuck with me as a fan through the years. If you live in another part of the country, you will still be able to watch the show Monday-Friday 9am-10am CENTRAL. Just click here during those hours to watch.
PLEASE do me a favor and LIKE the LIVING OKLAHOMA Facebook page.. (<–click) Leave me a note there too. It’ll be cool and maybe they’ll see I actually have fans. 🙂
I’ll keep on with my #socksoftheday but maybe a little more tomfoolery will be amuck. Let’s hope so.
Rock forth, Mitch
